On the afternoon of 16 May, "Suzhou North Railway Station Integrated Transportation Hub Construction Headquarters" was listed, which marked that Suzhou North Station Integrated Hub entered a substantial construction stage.
Li Yaping, deputy secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Suzhou, Wang Xiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, Wu Xiaodong, deputy mayor, and Zhou Wei, secretary general of the municipal government attended the ceremony.
In the future, Suzhou North Railway Station will enter a new situation of "large expansion" of space, "big improvement" of transportation hub status, "grand comprehensive" of Suzhou transportation, and "big rise" of Suzhou High-Speed Rail New Town (HSR New Town).
The planned "Suzhou North Station Integrated Transportation Hub" will be built into a modern, comprehensive and intelligent national hub for air-rail combined transportation, station-city integration and seamless transfers. It is also considered as a transportation hub in the Yangtze River Delta and a Shanghai-Soviet integrated hub, which helps the high-quality development of the region and better serve people's travel. The construction project will comprehensively promote the construction of the Suzhou HRS New Town.
The planning and construction of the"New North High-Speed Railway Station" has greatly improved overall urban function of Suzhou, optimized the shape of the city and formed city highlights. At the same time, it has greatly shortened the distance among Suzhou, the Yangtze River Delta, the whole country and even the world, which helping Suzhou City achieve sustained high-quality economic and social development.
